It's my turn to post over on the Stampavie blog tonight so I thought I would share one of the cards I created using one of the  images from the Spring/Summer 2011 release.    I used the new Fishing Fun image from Gillian Roberts.  I love this image!  There is just something about a little boy fishing with his dog.

I stamped the image on Copic X-Press It cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and colored it with copic markers.  (Sorry, I didn't write the colors down when I was creating the samples for CHA.)  I used some patterned papers from October Afternoon's Campfire paper pad.  I added some stitching, some red buttons, and some air mail baker's twine from my etsy shop.

sporty heros

Have you been checking out all the sneak peeks of the new images over on the Stampavie design team blog?  There are 59 new images releasing at CHA and the design team has been sharing lots of sneak peeks.  Today, I get to share a sneak peek of the new Sporty Heros image by Laurence Design.

I just love this cute image!  I paired the image with some My Mind’s Eye patterned paper (from the Just Dreamy 2 line) and colored my image with copic markers.  I added some brown buttons, some orange baker’s twine from my etsy shop, and stitched my layers before adhering everything together.

If you're like me, you might be still trying to sneak in a few more Christmas cards.   I can't get enough of the adorable Christmas images released earlier this year from Stampavie.  I keep pulling them out to make more cards.  For the card I'm sharing today, I used Penny Johnson's adorable Snowy Cuddles image.  I love snowmen and this is such a cute image!

I paired the image with some patterned papers from October Afternoon's Good Cheer line.  (Love these papers!  I think I need more.  lol)  I colored the image with copic markers that coordinate with my patterned papers.

I used these colors to color my image:  R30, R32, R29, R46, R89, YG17, G28, C1, C3, W3, W5, W7, W9, YR12, YR14, YR18, B000, B01.  Then, I added lots of stitching to my image and patterned papers.  I added some Glossy Accents on the holly berries, flock on the snowlady's hat, and flower soft beneath the snowmen.  I finished off my card with some poinsettias from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The sentiment is from Catslife Press.

The kids and I are baking Christmas cookies today (Friday by the time you read this post).  I am so behind on so many things, but baking cookies and frosting them together is a tradition that we all love.  So, I will be behind a little more, but my kids and I are making memories that we will all cherish and that is what is important.

Have you finished up all your Christmas cards yet?  I love creating Christmas cards so I’m generally creating a few here and there all year long.  I had to use another adorable image from Penny Johnson (available from Stampavie), Decorating Rudolph, for my card today.  Such a cute image!


I colored the image with copic markers and used some patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket’s Jolly by Golly line.  I added lots of stitching and some ribbon, brads, and glitter snowflakes.  I also added a little Glossy Accents to Rudolph’s nose and the holly berries.  The sentiment is from Catslife Press.

Christmas Wishes

It's hard to believe how quickly this year is speeding by.  I don't know if it's because we have a new baby and are busy with family stuff, but I don't know where the year has gone.  Christmas will be here before we know it!  Today, I thought I would share a cute little Christmas card I created using Penny Johnson's Jolly Holly image.  I love this image!  (Of course, I love all Penny's Christmas images so it's not very surprising that I love this one, too.)

I paired my image with some patterned paper from Echo Park and colored my image with copic markers that coordinate with my patterned papers (colors listed below).  Then, I added lots of stitching, some candy apple red wrinkle ribbon, and some buttons and leaves layered to resemble holly.

I also added some white flock to Santa's hat and coat, some white flower soft as snow beneath their feet, and some glossy accents to Rudolph's nose, the holly on Santa's hat, and the holly on the present.  Copic markers used to color my image: E31, E33, E35, E37, E39, W5, W7, W9, YR16, YR18, Y17, BG23, BG34, YG67, G29, C1, C2, R27, R46, R89, E00, E21, E11, R12, B0000, colorless blender.

I've had this adorable image from Mo Manning, Bella and Bronte, for a while now and finally got the chance to ink it up.  It's such an adorable image!  It reminds me of my little girl.  I'm not sure why since we don't even have a dog!

I paired my image with some patterned papers from October Afternoon's Fly a Kite paper pad.  After coloring my image with copic markers, I die cut it with a circle nestability die and sponged some chalk ink around the edges while it was still in the die.  I added a sentiment to the bottom and stitched my layers.  I finished off my card with some beautiful roses.

I shared this little treat box over on the Stampavie blog earlier this week, but I didn't get the chance to post it on my blog until today.  I can’t believe how quickly this year is flying by.  Halloween is almost upon us already.  I had the chance to play on Monday with another of Tina Wenke’s Halloween images.  This adorable image is called Halloween Critters.

I created a wrap for a little box and filled it with some Halloween candy.  It makes for a quick little gift idea for someone special on Halloween.  I used one of the pinstripe kraft boxes from my etsy store. 


I colored my image with copic markers.  Then, I added a white mat and a black mat.  I wrapped some patterned paper from Echo Park around my box, added some black wrinkle ribbon, and my image.  Then, I tied a bow,  and added a button and a white mini tag to finish off my gift box.  (The black wrinkle ribbon and mini white tag are also from my etsy store.)

I filled a bag some candy corn, tied a bow around the top, and put it inside my little gift box.

wishing you a hauntingly fun Halloween

This week's Stampavie challenge is to use Spooky Colors.  I had to use one of the adorable new images from Tina Wenke, Halloween Pumpkin with Spider.  This Halloween release is super limited so grab them while you can!  I've heard some retailers were upset that they didn't get them ordered in time.  Lacey has them in stock in her store here and they're on sale this week.   The orange paper sack, orange baker's twine, hand dyed orange and black baker's twine, orange carnival ticket, and black wrinkle ribbon are from my etsy store.

I created a fun little tag with my image and used it to decorate one of the orange paper sacks from my etsy store.  I love the orange and black sacks for Halloween goodies.  I stamped my image on white cardstock and colored it with copic markers (YR02, YR04, YR07, Y38, YG13, YG17, YG67, W1, W3, W5, W7, W9).  Then, I cut my tag shape, sponged black ink around the edges, and stitched around the edge before adhering it to my black layer.  I stitched first so you can't see the stitching on the back.  Then, I wrapped some orange baker's twine around the bottom of my tag.  Then, I tied a green button with some hand dyed orange and black baker's twine and adhered it to my tag.  I stamped my sentiment on an orange carnival ticket, added a black circle behind it and some green buttons stitched with orange baker's twine.  Then, I adhered my sentiment with foam adhesive.  I finished off my gift bag by tying some black wrinkle ribbon around it, stitching a white button to the center of the bow, and tying my tag to my ribbon with baker's twine. I mentioned some baker's twine that I have hand dyed orange and black.  It's a fun, custom item to add to your Halloween cards and projects.  I don't plan to dye any more so it will be first come, first serve.  You can find it here in my etsy store.

Happy Birthday to You

It seems like I can never have enough birthday cards.  With a pretty large family, someone's birthday is always coming up soon.  The Mouse-Bird-Ladybug-Cupcake image from Tina Wenke is perfect for adorable birthday cards.  I let my image really take center stage on my A5 card and only added a little patterned paper, stitching, and a sentiment.

I colored the image with copic markers that coordinate with the patterned papers I chose.  Then, I added some stitching around the edges and a birthday sentiment.  After assembling my card, I added some Glossy Accents to the sprinkles on the cupcake and the balloons.

have a hoot of a day

I thought today I would share another card that I created quite a while ago.  I haven't had as much time to create lately so I'm using up those cards I have had stored up in my draft posts.  Anyway, I fell in love with this adorable owl image, Hoo Hoo There, as soon as I saw it this summer in the SCS Stampavie gallery.  The bad news is that Stampavie has retired all the Rachelle Anne Miller images and it is very difficult to find this one.  I bought the last one from the store I finally found it in.  So, if you have some of the Rachelle Anne Miller images on your wishlist, grab them while you can!

I colored my image with copic markers (sorry, I don't have the list of markers today) and sponged some blue ink around the edges while it was still in the nestability oval die.  I used some patterned papers from Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers line.  Then, I added lots of stitching and some buttons.

This card (along with other new cards) is now posted in my etsy store: Apple Blossom Paperie.  Orders have been coming in this week of stock I've bought for my Etsy store.  I'm working on packaging and cutting.  I can't wait to share the new goodies with you!
