Hi Everyone! Wow, this post was a long time coming! I'm having some major computer issues and can no longer open Photoshop. I've spent many hours trying to figure it out, but I think it is actually my computer having more issues (it's 6 years old and has been having some problems for awhile). Looks like I may have to order a new computer sooner than I was hoping. Sigh. Anyway, I do still have an older version of Photoshop Elements on my computer so I'm trying to use it to limp by until I get a new computer. (I miss Photoshop so much!!!) I also had to recolor the image before I could make my card (more on that below). Well, enough of that, how about the card? :) (Sorry the photo is kind of dark. I just can't get it to look right using PSE.)
Isn't this image so adorable?! As soon as I saw this little cutie, Lulu, from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, I knew she would be coming to play at my house! lol She is part of the Lulu and Friends set. (Lacey also has her in stock at Stamp and Create here.)
She is colored with copic markers (colors listed at the bottom of the post). I masked the image after coloring to spray the background and the ground with my air compressor. I used some patterned papers from My Mind's Eye's Miss Caroline: Fiddlesticks paper pad and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I also used a silver filigree corner from Wild Orchid Crafts and used a Snow Cap Paint Dabber to paint it white. I didn't have blue flowers that worked well with the colors in my image and patterned paper so I used a BG72 copic marker and my air compressor to spray some white flowers to match my color scheme.
I decided to ink her up last weekend so I could play along with the current Kraftin' Kimmie challenge (which is almost over now!), but I had some help with my coloring so I didn't get my card finished until yesterday. My 21 month old son has been in the habit lately of climbing up on my chair and coloring like Mommy. I forgot and left my finished image sitting on my desk when I turned around to do something. I heard the sound of markers on paper and knew exactly what he was coloring!! Luckily, I had written down all my marker colors so it was easy to recolor the image once I found the time. Little stinker. :)
Now, that I finally got my card finished, I'm playing along with the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge which is a sketch challenge. I'm also playing around with the current Wild Orchid Crafts challenge which is Bingo. (I used gems, flowers, and lace.)
Have a wonderful weekend!
Niki
