I'm taking a little break from stamping to work on some other things that I've been wanting to get done. I have a few cards that I haven't shared yet, though. I thought I would share this card today that I created with some stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps. I absolutely love the western sets, Back in the Saddle and Way Out West, that Claire released back in March. As soon as I got my stamps, I had to create this card.
I started by stamped the woodgrain pattern on my kraft cardstock with some rich cocoa memento ink and then lightly sponged the edges with antique linen and walnut stain distress inks. To create my image, I started by cutting a piece of white cardstock and stamping the the mountains in the background with some london fog memento ink and the foreground silhouettes with versafine onyx black ink. Then, I sponged some stormy sky and faded jeans distress inks around the sky using a foam applicator from Tim Holtz. When the piece was dry I added a white mat and a couple copper brads in the corner. I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock using onyx black ink. Then, I die cut it with a labels 8 nestability die. While the sentiment was still in the die, I sponged some antique linen distress ink around the edges. Last, I adhered my image and sentiment with some foam adhesive.
Have a wonderful week!
Niki
This looks like a real photo with the white border! I thought for sure you airbrushed the background but I am pleasantly surprise that you sponged it (because it gives me hope that maybe I cn acieve the same look!) :)
