Welcome to the first day of sneak peeks for the new stamps releasing at Waltzingmouse Stamps on May 1st. Today, the design team is previewing the new stamp set called Gingham & Co. Claire has designed a wonderful set filled with gingham backgrounds and a reversed polka dot background. It's such a great addition to the background stamps.
I used the new Gingham & Co. set to create my quilted background on my card. I stamped the gingham and reversed polka dot patterns a few times each on cream cardstock with baby pink CTMH ink. Then, I used a 1.75" square punch to punch 8 squares of each pattern. I sponged some antique linen distress ink around the edges, added a dab of adhesive to each square (just enough to hold them in place before stitching), and created my quilted background. I stitched my quilt to a black mat and stitched each square in place. Doesn't it create a fun quilted look? I always love quilted backgrounds like this.
To create my sentiment piece, I started by stamping the dotted circle from the Vintage Circles Small stamp set and the sentiment from the Spring Baskets stamp set with tuxedo black memento ink on cream cardstock. I die cut my circle using a circle nestability die and my Grand Calibur die cut machine. I added some antique linen distress ink to the edges. Then, I die cut the black scalloped circle using a lacey circles nestability die. I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Roses in Bloom stamp set on copic x-press it cardstock, colored them with copic markers (R20, R21, R22, YG63, YG67), and cut them out. I adhered them to my sentiment piece with foam adhesive. Then, I wrapped my ribbon around my card, tied a bow, and stitched a button in the center. I attached my patterned paper to my card with my atg adhesive and glue dots in the corners. Then, I adhered my sentiment with foam adhesive.
Hop on over to the rest of the design team ladies' blogs for lots more inspiration using the new Gingham & Co stamp set (available May 1st).
