Today, my kids participated in a kids challenge over on SCS. The challenge was to create a card with 9 elements. They had so much fun! Here are the cards they created:
My 4 yr old daughter created this card. She loves pink! :) She picked everything for her card and looked at some of my cards to decided how she wanted to put everything together. I helped her with the stamping, tying ribbon, and cutting pieces. Her 9 elements are:
light pink patterned paper
dark pink patterned paper
image from Wild Rose Studio
pink flowers
pink rhinestones
pink ribbon
pink buttons
sentiment
pink glitter on the flower on the kitty's head
My 7 year old son made this card. He picked everything for his card. I helped him with the stamping and cutting pieces. He came up with the idea to layer the buttons and put them on the ribbon. I think I'm going to have to use that idea some time! His 9 elements are:
card base
green patterned paper
burgundy patterned paper
image from Wild Rose Studio
glittery snow
ribbon
buttons
white embellishments on buttons

Thanks so much for any comments you leave for their cards! I know they are going to love reading them! Have a great night!

It looks like they are both artists! What wonderful cards they've created! I especially like those pink gemmed flowers on your daughter's card and the buttons and glittery snow that your son used. :)

How adorably cute each card is! I love the pink card with the cute kitty. Great coloring and pretty flowers with the sparkle in the centers!
And a great holiday card! I too love the placement of those buttons. Cute little bear with all his holiday packages. Nice coloring and love the extra touch of glitter for the snow!

What talent your children have. Your son's button idea is great. What a beautiful pink kitty your daughter made. She did an amazing job of grouping her flowers.

Oh my! These cards are PRECIOUS!! Kids, you did a terrific job! I love the elements you chose for your cards and your sweet coloring! Pink is one of my favorite colors too so a totally pink card is awesome!! And, I love the layout of the card of the bear pulling that sleigh! What a fun way to use buttons!! Great job guys, thanks for sharing!

Wow, these cards are just awesome! I love all that pink in your little girl's card... just perfect! And your son's coloring job is just incredible. I think I have some competition in the "guy crafter" arena with this little dude. Very nice... both artists!

Your children's cards are awesome. They must get their creativity from mom. Looks like you may have future crafters there.

Oh how sweet. What beautiful cards. You can see how different boy and girl cards are. Your son can teach us how to make the boy cards.

Hi from San Diego! I love kids being encouraged to make cards by hand, and bonus... your kids have great design sense. My 14 and 16 year old boys still make all their cards too, so keep up the good work!

The kids' cards are real cute! I've taught my grandchildren how to stamp when they were 4 and up. To this day, when they come over they want to go back to my stamp room and "play" with me. They are now 13 and 14, boy and girl respectively! It will be something they will never forget. Please tell them they did a fantastic job and I look forward to seeing more of their cards soon.
