I had the chance this weekend to play along with the current Stampavie challenge (a sketch challenge). You know I absolutely love the Stampavie images! The current challenge was the perfect excuse (not that I really needed an excuse! lol) this weekend to pull out this adorable image from Gillian Roberts called Looking at You. (You can click on the photo to see a larger, crisper version.) I love this little cutie! She reminds me of my daughter. I also pulled out some of my new patterned paper from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop and Fly a Kite lines. I love the pattern papers in these pads! They are perfect for my addiction to kraft cardstock. (All the cards I have made over the last week have kraft cardstock so I hope you don't get tired of seeing it! lol) Since I can't seem to put down the kraft cardstock, I'm playing along with Jeanie's That's Krafty Thursday challenge, too.
Anyway, I used Diane's sketch for the Stampavie challenge, of course, and colored my image with copic markers. I added lots of stitching and some buttons and flowers.
I have to share a close up of the cute image . . . just because it is so cute! lol How about another sewing tip? I cut my image out with a nestability die and then colored her. I put the image back in the die, masked the image, and sprayed the sky with my air compressor and a copic marker. Then, I sewed around the edge. Okay, for the tip, if you emboss with your nestability die, it makes the perfect line to follow when stitching. You won't be able to see it once you stitch over it.
Have a wonderful day!!
Niki

Niki,
I love your style! I love how you use different patterned paper and make it work perfectly together. I always say that I'm going to do that, but never do...guess I'm scared. Your stitching always adds just the right touch. I may have to CASE something of yours so I can get the feel for it. Thanks for all the inspiration every day!

Thanks for playing along! This is soooo cute! She is one of my fave images too and I love the paper! I have been using Kraft more lately...just went out of my comfort zone with it and did some scrapping! lol. I love your stitching too- I've been meaning to un-earth my machine and try this!

Hi Niki...she is adorable! Gosh, your coloring is flawless! I shall take lessons from your cards! Printing them off and doing what I can to find the shading with my copics. Wish you were in the Toronto area for a class or two!!!
