Have you been following all the fun announcements for Papertrey Ink over on Nichole's blog this week? Lots of very neat stuff happening!! (My favorite hasn't been announced yet!!) Today's challenge is to use Papertrey Ink's new pigment inks to create a card using the emboss resist technique. This is such a fun technique. You may remember this card that I used the technique on recently. I had so much fun creating that card that I had to play along with today's challenge.
Now, I'm not one to to go on about one of my own cards. It feels too much like tooting my own horn! But I have to say, I love how this card turned out!
I cut a piece of white cardstock, stamped the floral silhouettes from Life with embossing ink, and embossed them with black embossing powder. Then, I sponged the entire piece with lemon tart ink. I added some summer sunrise ink (it blends well because it blends with the lemon tart pigment ink). I only added the summer sunrise about 3/4 of the way up the cardstock piece. Next, I added some orange zest ink and finally some terracotta tile ink along the bottom. The pigment inks blend beautifully to create a gorgeous sunset!
I added a white layer cardstock mat (with a scalloped punched bottom) once my sponged piece of dry. Then, I tied a piece or ripe avocado satin ribbon around the bottom and stitched a true black button to the center of the bow. I added the piece to my card using foam adhesive. I left off the sentiment because there just wasn't a good place for it.
Be sure and hop on over to Nichole's blog to read today's announcement and to play along in the challenge for the chance to win a fun prize!
Niki

Niki, I'll toot your horn and say this card is just GORGEOUS!! And thank you for reminding me that I can use the the black EP for this technique also. For some reason I kept thinking that I needed to use just the clear. I definitely want to give this a try. I love the way you use colors in all your creations!
