I have to say that the new Guide Lines II set is one of my new favorites! I love making my own patterned papers and this set makes it so easy. The pieces just fit together so perfectly (but that's no surprise since Nichole's sets are always amazing and so well thought out).
I created my patterned paper by stamping the circle outlines first in aqua mist ink on white cardstock. Then, I stamped the ocean tides images in the circles and the summer sunrise images on each dot outside the circle. I add the dark chocolate element and then stamped the middle size polka dot from polka dot basics in the centers of the images using true black and pure poppy inks. I stamped an entire sheet of white cardstock when I was creating my patterned paper so you will see this stamped paper again soon on another card.
My husband is laid off right now (we are doing fine right now, though) and it has been so nice just hanging out and spending so much time as a family. Today, we got out his old legos that he had as a kid and the kids have had so much fun building with Daddy. Making some fun, happy memories.
Hope you get to take some time today to just enjoy the moment!
Niki

Your patterned paper turned out beautifully. I love the colors you chose. I like the simplicity of the layout, it allows the patterned paper to shine.

This card is too cute, Niki! I love it! I can't wait to place my order for it when it gets back in stock. I typically wait a few weeks after each release to make sure I only buy what I think I really like as opposed to shopping impulsively! :)
Wishing the best for your family during these times.

Wow!! You put so much effort in this pattern...and it turned out awesome! I am so sorry to hear about your husband's job. Scott was almost in the same situation except they decided to move us instead of lay us off. We will be moving back to South Florida over the summer.
I will keep you in my prayers.

This is stunning! I love how you used the Aqua Mist so you can't see the guidelines part of it! I was so disappointed that this set had sold out a few hours after the release! Guess I should've stayed up to order it! :o)

Wonderful dp you made and a great card. Hope this is just a short "vacation" for your DH. Neat that he still has his legos.
