I had the chance yesterday to play a little with my stamps.  Just playing and experimenting.  That's always fun.  I decided to create this little Valentine for my husband (but really you could use it any time to let someone know how much you love them).

I started by playing a little with some red glimmer mist (I think it was Santa Baby, but I'm not sure).  I used some eclipse masking tape and cut a heart (folded the masking tape and cut it freehand like we used to do in school).  I used the negative mask to mask a piece of white cardstock.  Then, I sprayed my red heart with the glimmer mist.  I sped the drying up a bit with my heat gun.  When I was dry, I stamped my sentiment from Technique Tuesday's Loving Words stamp set by Ali Edwards. on my heart.  Then, I stitched my white cardstock to a red cardstock layer and added a red button tied with some cherry red baker's twine.  Last, I used Passion for Polka to stamp polka dots on my kraft card base with some red ink.

You can't really see the shimmer from the glimmer mist in the first photo so I took another one where you can see the shimmer.  I'm also playing around with the current Technique Tuesday challenge.  The challenge is to use red or pink on our cards.  There's still time to play along and one random participant will win one of the newly released stamp sets!

Wish You Were Here

Today, I thought I would share another card that I created for the Technique Tuesday booty at CHA.  This was another one of my favorites.  I just love how it turned out.  I used the new Wish You Were Here stamp set.  I stamped the image on Copic X-Press It cardstock and colored it with copic markers.  I used some patterned papers from October Afternoon's Fly a Kite paper pad and added some stitching, a red button, and some cherry red baker's twine from my etsy shop.

I finally got all the orders that have been paid for packaged up and mailed out this afternoon (except a couple of you that I emailed to get your addresses or if I need to cut you some twine for your order).  So, lots of goodies should be arriving at their new homes in a few days.  I spent all day Sunday going through emails and setting orders aside.  I'm sorry to those of you that missed out on some things you were wanting.  I went through the emails as I received them and lots of stuff went really fast.  I emailed everyone back so if you didn't hear from me, I didn't get your email.  Thank you to everyone for your orders and your sweet emails!

time to get it in gear

I'm back to share another of the cards I created for the CHA booth for Technique Tuesday.  This time, I was using the new Get it in Gear stamp set.  It's such a perfect stamp set for masculine cards.  I definitely need more of those in my stamp arsenal.  I stamped the gears on my kraft cardstock using some red ink.  Then, I added a piece of patterned paper that I stitched to a red cardstock mat.  Last, I stamped my sentiment on some cream cardstock, cut it out with a nestability die, and added a red cardstock mat and some screw brads from my stash.  I love that font.  It fits perfectly with the theme.

thank you for being my love

I thought I would pop in this morning and share the anniversary card that I created for my husband using Technique Tuesday stamps.  I went very CAS (Clean and Simple).  I created the pattern across the bottom of my card using a stamp from the Love, Ali stamp set.  Then, I created the red heart strip and the sentiment using stamps from the Adored stamp set.  (The Adored stamp set is Ali Edward's stamp set for the January Studio AE Subscription.  Looks like it is sold out for this month.)  I wrapped some red baker's twine from my etsy shop around the top and added some buttons.

miss you

I'm back with another sneak peek at one of the new images releasing soon from Technique Tuesday.  One of the new stamp lines debuting this weekend at CHA is the Chic Chicks line.  I got to work with this fun new line while I was creating my samples and thought I would share a peek at one of them.  This is the Belle on a Bike image.  It comes with 6 sentiments including the one you see here.  I colored the image with copic markers and used some patterned papers from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop line.  I added a little stitching to finish everything off.

In case you might not have heard of Technique Tuesday before, I thought I would talk about them a little.  Their stamps are really great quality photopolymer stamps.  They stamp beautifully and are really well made.  Their products are available on their site directly: Technique Tuesday.  They are also available through a lot of online retailers like Two Peas, A Walk Down Memory Lane, Emma's Paperie.  There is a page on their site where you can check for more retailers.  The sneak peek I shared yesterday and this card I'm sharing today are using stamps from their new release which is debuting at CHA this weekend. The new products will start shipping to retailers mid-February and be available on the Technique Tuesday site soon after.  They are coming out with so many great new stamps and some really cute new patterned papers, too.

Thanks so much for your sweet comments on the card I shared yesterday.  It always makes me smile when I read your comments.  Okay, I am off to finish up my husband's anniversay card.  Today is our 11th anniversary.  I've had sick kiddos this week and haven't had a chance to finish up his card yet.

life is good . . . really good

I am very excited to get to share this card with you today.  I had the opportunity to create some card samples for Technique Tuesday for their booth at CHA.  I can't wait to see all the new stamps they are releasing!  I love the new stamps that I got to work with and they've been sharing sneak peeks of more of the new images over in their Splitcoast Stampers forum and on their Facebook fan page.  Looks like lots of great stuff coming out very soon!

I had to pick my personal favorite to share first.  These stamps are from the new Life is Good stamp set (releasing at CHA this weekend).  I love that silhouette of the children playing and that is such a great sentiment.  The sentiment is definitely going to be used in my scrapbooks!  (The "life is good" and "really good" are separate stamps so it's so easy to stamp them in different colors if you want to add emphasis.)

I stamped the silhouette on white cardstock with black ink.  Then, I die cut the image with a circle nestability die.  While my image was still in the die, I used a blue copic marker and my air compressor to spray the evening sky.  (You could also sponge blue ink around the image to create a similar look.)  I used patterned papers from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop and Fly a Kite lines and stitched around the edges with my sewing machine.  I covered some Technique Tile Buttons with patterned paper before adhering them to my card.

Did you know Technique Tuesday offers a monthly auto-ship membership with exclusive stamp designs by Ali Edwards?  I absolutely love Ali and her scrapbooking style so I was excited to learn about the Technique Tuesday membership.  I got my January set, Adored, a week or so ago and I just love it!  I'm really excited to use these stamps because they are perfect for my layouts and my cards.

I decided to play along with the current Technique Tuesday challenge over in their Splitcoast Forum.  The challenge is Polka Dotty Dots.  I used 4 different Technique Tuesday stamp sets on my card.  The polka dots are from Passion for Polka.  The ledger is from Storytellers: Ledgers (which is retiring so pick it up quick if you want it).  The "nothing better . . ." sentiment is from the Love, Ali stamp set and the "love you" stamp is from the January membership stamp set, Adored (you can still join the club and get this set)  I added a little twine from my etsy shop and a red button to finish off my card.
