Happy Fall

 

Is it fall yet?  The weather here sure seems like it.  It's cold every night, but just about right during the day.  School is going well.  My son is enjoying it so far.  And I actually got some time to stamp this morning.  Been a pretty good day! 

I created this card a while ago, but hadn't had a chance to take a photo of it until today.  I was in the fall mood and decided to pull out one of my cute little Riley stamps and some autumn flower soft to create a card.  I stamped the pumpkins from 2009 Autumn Tags and then inked the edges of my card.  I also inked the edge of my patterned paper.  I colored my Riley image with copic markers and added the autumn flower soft under him.  While my image was drying, I stamped my sentiment using Borders and Corners: Circles and a sentiment from 2009 Autumn Tags.

life is good

I got a chance last week to play with another of my new Riley stamps.  This is Fins Riley and he is just so cute!  He's perfect for summer cards!

 

I chose some My Mind's Eye Magnolia patterned paper and colored Riley in coordinating colors.  I added some dimensional glaze to Riley's swimming goggles and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Day at the Beach.

 

And these are the copic markers that I used to color Riley.

celebrate today

As soon as I saw Graduation Riley, I knew he would be perfect for the card I wanted to make for my son for his preschool graduation.  I ordered him right away along with a few other Rileys I've been wanting to pick up.  I received him the day of the graduation so I had a chance to make this card for him before graduation.

 
I paired Riley with some Basic Grey Marrakech papers and classic orange and mystic dark prism cardstocks.  I love these patterned papers!  I'm pretty sure Bev has them in the store.

We may have finally gotten some good news on the job front.  My husband has been laid off since the end of February which is pretty typical in his line of work.  He was supposed to finally go back last week and got the call that he couldn't go back yet.  He got another phone call this morning to come back Monday so I'm praying it works out and he can go back full time again.  It will be a big weight off both of our shoulders.

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe

 

I made this card before Christmas and never had a chance to upload it here.  This was a quick and easy card to make.  I just picked the papers and went from there with the colors.  This is some of the Ski Slope patterned paper from the SU  holiday mini along with some riding hood red cardstock.  The felt snowflake and grosgrain ribbon is also from the mini catalog.

 

I added some glitter to the liquid applique snow for some sparkle.  I took quite a few photos and never could get a good one of the sparkle.  I used some chunky glitter so it looks neat in real life.  Some stitching and a button finish off my card.

How was everyone's Christmas?  Ours was very nice.  We stayed home and just had a wonderful family day.  Anyone get some neat storage stuff?  I'm always on the look out for storage ideas.  I have one to share myself.  My husband made me a ribbon holder.  I'll snap a photo and share it soon.  I love it!  Anyone care to share how they store their buttons?  I have an idea, but I'd love to hear what others use.

Riley is off for adventures!

I can not believe it is already time for another Hanna Stamps release. Seriously, November just flew by! How did it get to be December 1st already?! Three new stamp sets and two new Rileys are releasing this Friday.

Hanna Stamps is releasing two new Rileys this month (Van and Trailer Rileys). I had to use them together, of course, so my image is really long. They are so adorable! I stamped my images first and colored them with copic markers. Then, I cut my card base from kraft cardstock (5x7 inches). I stitched my patterned papers to my card. I stamped my sentiment and then, I punched some holes to thread my ribbon through. I attached my ribbon with brads. I matted my image and added it to my card using foam adhesive. I finished off my card with a row of brads above my image.
