Let Heaven and Nature Sing!

This week, Jeanne challenged the High Hopes design team and our fellow stampers to Go For the Gold, ie use gold on our cards.  I chose this sweet Herald Angel image from the last release along with some gold shimmer cardstock and enchanted evening cardstock from Papertrey Ink.  I stamped Polka Dot Basics II with versamark on enchanted evening cardstock and embossed some gold dots.

I colored the angel with copic markers.  Then, I used a gold Marvy paint pen to color the stars on her halo and added some sparkle to her wings using a gelly roll pen.  Then, I wrapped the corners with ribbon, stamped my sentiment, and added the image with foam adhesive.

How's the weather been where you are?  It's been way too hot here!  We don't usually get temperatures this high and it's miserable.  Hoping for some cool weather soon, but there is none in sight.

Have a fairy Merry Christmas!

It's time again for the High Hopes challenge.  I haven't had the chance to play in the last couple challenges so it felt good to finally get my card ready for this week's challenge which is to Make it Sparkle and Shine.  I used Cindy's sketch again for my card and used lots of sewing which fits Bev's challenge.  I also did a bit of recycling.  I had originally created the striped panel across the bottom for my Bearly Swooshin' sneak peek card.  Then, I changed my color scheme on that card and didn't end up using it.  So, I decided to use it for this card since I love the holiday colors in Be Merry line from My Mind's Eye.

I colored my Holly the Winter Fairy image with copic markers in colors that coordinate with my patterned papers.  Then, I cut her out.  I added some glitter to the tops of her boots and her wings and some clear dimensional glaze to the berries and bells.  While the image was drying, I cut my white circle using a nestability die.  While the circle was still in the die, I sprayed it with a pink copic marker using my air compressor.  I stamped the sentiment on the bottom of my card and assembled the layers on my card.  Then, I added my image using foam adhesive.  Then, I added my buttons and poinsettia.

Christmas in July

I finally got the chance to sit down and stamp this morning.  I decided to play along in today's sketch challenge on SCS and to create a card for this week's High Hopes challenge since I hadn't had a chance to play along yet.  This week's High Hopes challenge is to Christmas in July.  This month's release has lots of adorable holiday themed stamps.  I chose Three Pane Christmas as my image.  My patterned papers are from Basic Grey's Wassail and Figgy Pudding lines and the cardstock is ripe avocado from Papertrey Ink and baja breeze from SU.  I colored my images with copic markers and added some fun flock to Santa's hat and gold stickles to the snowman's poinsettia.

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas!

 

I know I use the adjective "cute" a lot when I'm describing High Hopes stamps, but they just are!  So, how about a cute hippo card today? *wink*  As soon as I saw this hippo, it became one of my favorite stamps from the new release.  But I have a confession, I had never heard of the song "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" before I saw the release stamps.  Crissy enlightened me and sent a link to the song.  It was recorded in '54 by Gayla Peavey, who was ten years old at the time  You can listen to it here. hee hee Love it! 

I chose some Wassail patterned paper from Basic Grey and colored my image in coordinating colors.  I masked the hippo after coloring it and sprayed the wall behind it with a cream colored copic marker.  Lots of stitching and buttons and a prima flower and leaves finish off my card.

Winter fun

 

I am so excited because I get to share some sneak peeks of the new High Hopes release!  (New stamps will be available for sale Saturday night or Sunday morning.)  Oh my goodness, there are so many adorable new stamps!  Just wait until you see them all!  One of the themes for this release is Christmas in July.  I had to ink up this adorable bear as one of my first images.  Isn't he so cute!?!

I chose some Be Merry patterned papers from My Mind's Eye along with some hibiscus burst and dark chocolate cardstock.  I used a dotted wave border punch across the bottom.  (Bev has these available in the store.)

 

I stamped my skiing bear on white cardstock and colored him with copic markers that coordinate with my patterned paper.  Then, I masked the image and sprayed the sky using a copic marker and my air compressor.  Then, I added some dimensional glaze to the bear's nose and ski goggles and some polar white flower soft to the bottom of my image.  Love that stuff!

You Rock

 

Quick post from me.  I'm typing it up just before we leave to go camping on Thursday. This week, Crissy challenged us to use lots and lots of polka dots on our cards.  I pulled out Singing Catrina for my card along with some Papertrey cardstock and patterned papers.  Lots of stitching, buttons, and rounded corners.

 

After I colored my image, I added some angel wings shimmerz to Catrina's boots and jacket to give them a rock star sparkle!  I also added some mini rhinestones to her boots.  Be sure to check out all the design team ladies' cards on the High Hopes challenge blog.

Picnic Time

It's time for the Sunday High Hopes challenge!  This week, Lacey is challenging us to use stars or stripes on our cards.  Thanks for the fun challenge, Lacey!

 

I pulled out Ants Picnic from the last High Hopes release.  (You know these cute little ants are some of my favorites!)  I paired my image with some patterned papers from my stash and some blue bayou cardstock and ribbon.  I'm not really sure who makes the paper.  I think it is some retired Wild Asparagus from My Mind's Eye.  I doodled the grass around the image and colored the image with copic markers.

Here's the Dirt

This week's High Hopes challenge is Use Up Your Scraps from Jeanne.  Oh, fun challenge!  We all have lots of those!  I decided to create my husband's Father's Day card for this challenge.

 
I paired this cute Gordon Groundhog with some Basic Grey Archaic patterned paper scraps.  I colored the image with coordinating copic markers and stitched my layers.  Then, I sponged all the edges with dark chocolate ink to dirty them up.

Baby Buggie

Where has the last week gone?!  I can't believe it is already time for another High Hopes challenge.  This week, Janette challenged us to use lots of circles on our cards.  I have to say I had so much fun with this challenge!  I have never made a card with this many circles, but I think it turned out cute.

 

I recently got some of Cosmo Cricket's new Early Bird patterned papers.  You all know how much I love vintage or vintage inspired stuff.  The patterned papers in this line are so cute and wonderfully vintage inspired! 

I cut a large circle for my cute little ladybug image and colored it with copic markers.  Then, I masked my two bugs and sprayed my white cardstock with a E51 copic marker.  I sprayed it a little heavier around the edge.  Then, I sponged some dark chocolate ink around the edge and distressed it with a pair of scissors.  I added some paper piercing and some black buttons as the buggy wheels. 

I chose three patterned papers and cut some large circles using nestability dies.  Then, I sponged the edges with dark chocolate ink, distressed the edges, and added the paper piercing.  I did the same thing pretty much with my sentiment circle (it's vintage cream cardstock).  Stamped my sentiment, sprayed it with a copic marker, added an ocean tides mat, sponged dark chocolate ink, and added paper piercing.  Then, I layered all my circles and tied a piece of ocean tides swiss dots ribbon around my card.

Live Your Bliss

This is the last card that I have created and haven't shared yet.  I'm busy working on Papertrey Ink release stuff so new stuff is coming soon!  I can't believe it is already release time again! 

If you've paid for stamps and such through paypal, your package is going out this morning.  As soon as I get done typing this up, the kids and I are going to be walking to the post office.  Please let me know when your package arrives safely.

 

The ants from the last High Hopes release have quickly become some of my favorites.  They are just so cute!  This stamp is called Sweet Dreams.  I chose some My Mind's Eye patterned papers (Tres Jolie) and and classic orange Prism cardstock.  I oftenline the inside of my cards with white or vintage cream cardstock.  It just helps finish them off with a nice place to write my message.

 

I colored my image with copic markers that coordinate with my patterned papers.  After matting my image with classic orange cardstock, I added some Nut Brown Flower Soft.  I love the dimension it adds!  Last, I added a sentiment from Mega Mixed Messages.
