I thought I would pop in this morning and share the anniversary card that I created for my husband using Technique Tuesday stamps.  I went very CAS (Clean and Simple).  I created the pattern across the bottom of my card using a stamp from the Love, Ali stamp set.  Then, I created the red heart strip and the sentiment using stamps from the Adored stamp set.  (The Adored stamp set is Ali Edward's stamp set for the January Studio AE Subscription.  Looks like it is sold out for this month.)  I wrapped some red baker's twine from my etsy shop around the top and added some buttons.

sporty heros

Have you been checking out all the sneak peeks of the new images over on the Stampavie design team blog?  There are 59 new images releasing at CHA and the design team has been sharing lots of sneak peeks.  Today, I get to share a sneak peek of the new Sporty Heros image by Laurence Design.

I just love this cute image!  I paired the image with some My Mind’s Eye patterned paper (from the Just Dreamy 2 line) and colored my image with copic markers.  I added some brown buttons, some orange baker’s twine from my etsy shop, and stitched my layers before adhering everything together.

Did you know Technique Tuesday offers a monthly auto-ship membership with exclusive stamp designs by Ali Edwards?  I absolutely love Ali and her scrapbooking style so I was excited to learn about the Technique Tuesday membership.  I got my January set, Adored, a week or so ago and I just love it!  I'm really excited to use these stamps because they are perfect for my layouts and my cards.

I decided to play along with the current Technique Tuesday challenge over in their Splitcoast Forum.  The challenge is Polka Dotty Dots.  I used 4 different Technique Tuesday stamp sets on my card.  The polka dots are from Passion for Polka.  The ledger is from Storytellers: Ledgers (which is retiring so pick it up quick if you want it).  The "nothing better . . ." sentiment is from the Love, Ali stamp set and the "love you" stamp is from the January membership stamp set, Adored (you can still join the club and get this set)  I added a little twine from my etsy shop and a red button to finish off my card.

celebrate the moment

Today is my Mom's birthday so I thought I would share the card I created for her.  I love these adorable images from Lili of the Valley.  I wanted to use three different images on my card so I did some masking while stamping the images (more on that in a second).  I paired my images with some patterned papers from October Afternoon's Fly a Kite line and sponge some antique linen distress ink on all the edges before adding some stitching before finishing everything off with some red buttons.

Like I said, I wanted to use these three images together on her card as they remind me of my children.  I started by stamping the Baby Blanket image (to represent our baby boy, of course).  Then, I masked the baby and stamped the Big Present image (to represent our oldest son).  Last, I masked the boy image as well and stamped the Rosie with Presents image (to represent our daughter).  Don't the images look cute all together like that?  I colored the images with copic markers and sponged the antique linen ink around the edges before stitching my paper.

Here are the marker colors I used to color the image:
skin: E00, E21, E11, R12, E000
baby clothes: B93, B95, B97
baby blanket: E50, E51, E53
boy/girl hair: E33, E35, E29
boy clothes: R24, R29, R89, BG72, BG75, BG78, E33, E35, E29, C2
girl clothes: R21, R22, R24, BG72, BG75, BG78
presents: YG93, YG95, YG97, E50, E51, E53, E55, R29, R21, R22
shadows/ground: W1, W3, W5

Oh, I don't think I mentioned it here, but I recently started using the Copic X-press It cardstock.  Best cardstock for copics ever!  I love the blending I get and some of the colors are just a bit different than when I was using PTI's white cardstock.  I definitely recommend this cardstock if you're coloring with copic markers.


The sentiment I used is from Whimsy Stamps' Birthday Letter Seals stamp set.  I love that sentiment.

I was in a CAS mood when I was creating my cards for this month's Papertrey Ink release.  The card above was my favorite card that I created for the release.  I love the clean lines, color combo, and patterns along with a butterfly from my Butterfly Dreams set that I designed last year (kind of partial to that butterfly *wink*).  I paired my butterfly with a stamp from the new Mat Stack 3 Collection stamp set and a sentiment from Healing Touch Sentiments.  I used the butterfly die and the Mat Stack 3 die.  The patterned papers are from the Library Ledger and the It's Official paper pads (by Papertrey Ink).  I finished it off with a pure poppy button and a piece of Brown Sugar Twine from my etsy shop.

Tiny Treats: Birthday

It's that time of the month when the Papertrey Ink design team gets together to share a group post focusing on one of the new sets coming out during the next release.  Tonight, for our first group post , we're sharing ideas and sneak peeks using the new Tiny Treats: Birthday stamp set (available January 15th).

The new lunchbox die gave me the idea to create a little package that could be used as a surprise treat for the birthday boy or girl's lunchbox.  The 4 oz round clear top tins that Papertrey carries work perfectly with the Limitless Layers Dies and the new Tiny Treats: Birthday stamp set to create adorable, quick and easy treat packaging.  I cut a small strip of patterned paper from the 2008 Bitty Dot Basics paper pad and adhered it to the bottom of my tin. Then, I die cut a kraft circle and a scalloped white circle using from the Limitless Layers 1.75" circle set.  I stamped my sentiment, border, and bird image and colored the image with copic markers.  My diecut circles fit perfectly on top the tin like they were made for each other.

Since I was using the little bird image, I filled my tin with gummy worms for the bird-day boy or girl (because birds love worms, right? lol), but you could fill it with lots for different treats.  Wouldn't these make a cute surprise in the birthday girl or boy's lunchbox?  They would also work great for quick and easy party favors for any occassion.

The challenge this week is "Anything Goes."  I pulled out this adorable Group Hug Bears image for my card.  It's such a cute image!  I colored my image with copic markers and cut it out with a circle nestability die.  While my image was still in the die, I sponged some yellow ink around the edges.  I paired my image with some patterned papers from October Afternon (Thrift Shop and Cherry Hill paper pads).  I added lots of stiching and some crocheted flowers and buttons.
