After creating the Merry Little Christmas card the other day with the Chic Shopping image, I decided I had to pull out the Looking Chic image to create a card.  I can't resist Penny Johnson's adorable stamps (available through Stampavie)!

I used some October Afternoon patterned papers from the Thrift Shop line and paper pieced her coat and hat after I colored my image with copic markers.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I sponged a light cream colored ink around the edge of my image while it was still in the nestability die.  I added lots of stitching, a sentiment from Catslife Press, some red satin ribbon, and some roses.  I'm playing along with this week's Simon Says challenge which is paper piecing.

happy fall

I'm back with another card I created for the Papertrey Ink release using Falling Leaves.  This was one of those cards that came together rather quickly.  The idea popped in my head and I really like how it turned out.  The Autumn Abundance patterned paper is perfect with this set.  I sponged the tea dye duo inks around the edges of the patterned papers and cardstocks and stitched my layers to terracotta tiles mats.  A little ribbon and a button help finish everything off.

Super cute card Niki! I have to say that I love that set and have seen amazing projects with it...but, it is a bit of an intimidating set. I wouldn't know where to start. :) Thanks for the chance to win. Hugs, Sarah

merry little Christmas

I had the chance this week to play with one of the new Stampavie Christmas images, Chic Shopping.  I just love Penny Johnson's illustrations and her Christmas stamps are so cute, too!  I love pink and blue as a Christmas color combo and it was perfect for this image.  So, I found some Basic Grey papers that worked great and colored my image with copic markers in coordinating colors. 

I know it helps to know what markers I used when coloring, but I seem to have a hard time remembering before I put the markers away.  This week, I started writing them on a post it note that I can tuck in my card when I finish it so we'll see if that helps me remember.  The markers I used on this card were:  E000, E00, E11, E31,E33, E35, E37, R20, R21, R22, R27, E41, YG67, BG45, colorless blender.

After coloring and die cutting my image with a circle nestability die, I sponged around the edge with blue ink while my image was still in the die.  I wanted to play along with this week's challenge over on the Wild Orchid Crafts challenge blog which is to make a card with lots of sparkle, so I added some stardust stickles to my image.  I also added some polar white flower soft beneath their feet.  Since Wild Orchid Crafts creates gorgeous mulberry flowers, I had to use some roses on my card, too.  (Mine aren't from Wild Orchid Crafts, but I just placed my first order with them this week and can't wait to try some of their flowers!)  I added some cotton candy stickles to my flowers to make them sparkle, too (though it's a little hard to see the sparkle in the photo).

just a note

I used the adorable Mouse with Sunflower image for my card along with some patterned papers from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop line.  I colored my image with copic markers like usual and added lots of stitching, some buttons, and some felt that I had die cut with a ric rac die.

 

It's kind of hard to tell in the photo, but I also added some glitter to the butterfly's wings and the bees' wings with a glitter pen.  Isn't that mouse so cute?!  I searched for a long time to find this cutie in stock back when it was released this spring.

Happy Birthday Heidi!

Heidi, the owner of Stampavie, is celebrating a birthday this week and the design team has gotten together to send her lots of birthday wishes with a special card created by each of us.  Happy Birthday, Heidi!  Hope you have a wonderful birthday!

I used the adorable Baking a Treat image for my card and paired it with some Just Dreamy 2 patterned papers from My Mind's Eye.  I colored the image with copic markers, stitched my layers, and die cut some felt flowers.  I stitched the flower in place and hand cut the little leaves before tucking them behind the flower.

you are my sunshine

Did everyone have a good weekend?  Ours was nice.  My dad and step-mom came up to go camping with two of my sisters and their families so we drove out on Saturday to see everyone.  It was nice to see everyone even if it was only for a few hours.  My husband is using our trailer house to live in during the week for work so we couldn't go camping.  I think this is going to end up being one of those years where we don't get to go as often as we like, but that's the way it goes.  Last time we went camping, I did miss the glider chair for rocking the baby to sleep, though.  Well, enough jabbering, how about a card?

I just love this cute image from Stampavie called Bobby and Me.  It's perfect for boy cards.  We don't have a dog, but I was still thinking of my son when I was creating this card.  Something about the image just reminds me of my son. 

I colored the image with copic markers that coordinate with the patterned papers I chose from Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers line.  After die cutting the image, I left it in the nestability die and sponged around the edges with some orange chalk ink.  The sentiment is from a CTMH set.

celebrate autumn

It's hard to believe another Papertrey Ink release has come and gone!  The new stamps are so much fun.  Lots of great Fall and Halloween sets and I had so much fun playing this month with them!  With the release last night, I get to start sharing the rest of the projects I have been creating.  First up is this fall beauty that you might have seen on Nichole's blog this morning.  I love how easy it is to create beautiful leaf patterned papers with the new Leaf Prints stamp set.  I used terracotta tile ink and randomly stamped the leaf image on my rustic cream cardstock.  Then, I inked the edges with the tea dye duo ink pads, impressed it with the linen impression plate, and stitched around the edge before adhering it to my card.

Aren't the new leaf dies so fun?!  I love how easy they make it to create leaves for us to use on our cards.  For my sentiment I used Fillable Frames #7 and the new Fillable Frames #7 die and the Mat Stack 4 die.  I stitched around the edges and added some orange rhinestones.  Last, I stitched some buttons to my leaf and added it to my card with foam adhesive.

wishing you sunshine

Hi Everyone!  How was your weekend?  Ours was good.  We didn't do much of anything and just hung our around the house.  Sometimes, doing nothing is the perfect way to spend the weekend. 

Today is my first time posting over on the Stampavie blog as a design team member.  I'm still over the moon that I get to design for them so I'm excited to really get started.  (By the way, have you seen the new Christmas images on the website?  Soooooo cute!!!)

I thought I would share a card I created with one of the adorable images from Tina Wenke called Hedgehog with Umbrella.  Isn't this image so cute?!

 

I stamped my image on white cardstock and colored her with copic markers.  I used some patterned paper from October Afternoon's Detour collection along with some kraft, cream, and red cardstocks to create my card.  I finished it off with some stitching and some red buttons and twine.  I added some Glossy Accents (by Ranger) to the umbrella and rain drops to make them nice and shiny.
