I am so excited to get to share this project with you today. I absolutely love the new Heart Prints and Heart Prints Sentiment sets! (Oh, wait, I said that yesterday, didn't I? *wink*) Anyway, I used the new sets to alter one of the Papertrey large heart tins. I wanted to decorate my tin as a gift for a special friend of mine so I chose this beautiful sentiment: "There is no distance too far between friends, for friendship gives wings to the heart." Love that!
I started my tin by cutting my patterned paper and adding it to my tin. Then, I added the crocheted lace around the lid. I added some cardstock that coordinates with the patterned paper to the inside of my tin. Then, I added the dew drops around the lid. I used dimensional glaze since it will dry clear. I just added a strip of glaze and added the dew drops, more glaze and more dew drops, etc until I completely lined the heart.
Then, I stamped my sentiment on vintage cream cardstock with black ink and added a mat before adhering it to my tin. Then, I stamped one of the new Heart Prints' hearts on vintage cream cardstock and punched it out. I love how quick and easy it is to make these hearts (and wait until you see all the heart patterns!). I added my heart with some foam adhesive to finish off my tin.
I'm not sure if you can tell in the photo, but the patterned papers have glitter on the stripes and flower centers. I can't wait to see what all the ladies came up with for this challenge. (All their links are on the left.)
Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting!
Niki
